The story
Like several other survivors in this collection, this angel's original name inscription did not survive intact, though the painting itself — the costume, the pose, the quality of the brocateado gold work on the doublet — is unmistakably a product of the same Cusco workshops that produced the named militia.
Its presence here rounds out the wall a little further: the "Celestial Militia" was never a fixed roster of exactly the names history happened to preserve, and this collection tries to reflect that, rather than pretending only the legible names ever existed.
